Sometimes our wandering has some inefficiencies with wonderful outcomes. This is the case of this past Saturday.

Our original plan was to travel from Phoenix to the LA area where we have friends and family before heading north to visit our eldest son in Salt Lake. Plans changed when our youngest daughter, Hanna, mentioned she would be in Las Vegas for work the weekend of March 4th. What's an extra 270 miles of travel to see your kid for a couple of hours??

So north we went.
When faced with the option of having Eric, the dog and I in Hanna's hotel room or having her come out to experience Grover with us for the night, Hanna was very decisive decision that she wanted to come out to the trailer.

For those of
you who know Hanna, you understand that she really wanted to experience a night with Grover!

We setup camp at a RV Park just north of the strip. Not the best place we have stayed, but it was Nascar weekend in Vegas.
You can refer to our continued good fortune from my prior post!
After the required nap so I could stay up past 9 pm, off we went to the strip. Hanna had a team dinner and we were to meet her afterwards. We wandered for a while looking for dinner ourselves until we came upon Giada's. Amazingly quiet above the slot machines of the Cromwell Hotel with beautiful views of the Bellagio fountain performance across the street.

Fun Fact: There are 1,214 water nozzles and 4,792 lights in the display at Fountains of Bellagio!
During our time at Giada's Eric receives a text from our friend, Maureen, "You guys are in Vegas?? I have your daughter!"
With that we went to Javier's where the team dinner was winding down and sat the bar. This is what happened next.

Although we spend less than 20 hours in Vegas, it was so worth the side trip to see family with surprises of good friends.
See you on the road!!
