And this is what happened in Gunlock State Park, Utah: Rain.
We left the glorious warm sunshine of the Mohave Desert for rain, rain and more rain. The bright news is that these falls are the spillway for the Gunlock reservoir dam. They do not flow every year as they need the reservoir to fill with the spring runoff. If they flow, it will only be for a few weeks. This is what they looked like when we pulled into camp.

They started to flow on the evening we arrived, first time since 2019. The video above was taken just before they closed the road due to flooding. Luckily, our campsite was just upstream from this on a knoll within the state park.
It rained a full inch of rain in the 36 hours we were there. We knew it was coming and had decided to stay south in St George instead of going into the mountains of Zion where they were predicting feet of snow. Although we did not venture out much during our stay in Gunlock, the scenery again stole the show.
The day before we had happened on a beautiful little campsite as we were trying to turn around just north of St George. Happy we made the choice to move to higher ground as this red sand would have been soup for sure
When they skies cleared, we were off again. Heading northward to our son's house.
See you on the road!
