The land that time forgot

I had an interesting pickup at the Boise Airport; Eric, Nellie and our 26 ft trailer! Interesting manuevers, but we were off to Eastern Oregon for a few days of boondocking at Succor Creek. Succor Creek is an Oregon State Park that lies in a deep rocky canyon down 18 miles of dirt road. There was no cell signals, no hookups, no water; it was gorgeous!

We found the perfect campsite high above the creek at the far end of the park. This proved to be good and bad.

After a wonderful steak dinner, it rained most of the over night and we were glad to be in a high grassy area.

The road however was "snot" as Eric called it. There was no way we were leaving without some sun, wind and another night at camp. To confirm all of this, Eric took the motorcycle out for an excursion. Sure enough, it's muddy out there!

The afternoon turned a bit sunny, so we set out for "finger rock"

Unsucessfully, we also looked for Buzzard Spring. It was pretty hard to do without a GPS signal, so we just walked and looked at this land that time forgot.

I missed being out in the wilderness and this was just what I needed. We are off for our last night in Boise, then out to visit family in Eastern Oregon!

Until then, See you on the road!
