November is pretty drab for many parts of the US. We watch the days get shorter and rainier as we clean up leaves and ready our snow blowers. This is completely opposite in southern Arizona. The summer heat has broken and the snowbirds begin to arrive to enjoy the almost perfect weather. Eric and I are not snowbirds but boy did we enjoy the warm November sunshine!

While visiting Barb and Ron this spring we camped in one of Maricopa County parks. Apparently Thanksgiving camping is popular activity in this wonderful weather because we had to split our stay between White Tank Regional Park in Maricopa and Skyline Regional in Buckeye. Both are close to Barb and Ron's and both were very clean and beautiful. We were even able to get a hike in one morning. I recommend remembering county park systems if you're a camper!!
We had a good visit with Barb and Ron enjoying great meals, wine and weather☀️.
One of our meals was to prepare schoof noodles with Eric's pheasant. This is a family recipe that has no quantities, no cooking times or temperatures. Under the tutelage of my mother-in-law and assistance from Eric, we created the dish. Other than over browning the potatoes, it turned out pretty good. I need Eric to shoot another rooster so I can practice again!

Barb is just starting to come back after Covid so we layed low at home much of the time. One day, the men picked a beautiful lunch for us at The Vic, high in the hills of the Verrado community. Glad Barb summoned the energy to go because the view was amazing with delicious fare and company.
And just my luck, Eric forgot his cc here so we had to stop by the next evening for a nightcap at the bar 🥃🍷

Thanksgiving feast was one of the best we have ever had. Each one of us contributed resulting in a fabulous meal shared with wonderful family. It's been many many years since we've sat at the thanksgiving table together. Thankful we were able to do it once again 🦃❤️
Friday morning was time to head home. We were rolling out of the park at 5:30am in hopes to avoid the I10 traffic through town and the airport. As sad as we were to go, Mother Nature gave us a beautiful send off
See you on the road!
