Good Morning from our second day on the road. I've learned a few things since my last post:
planning for a trip and packing for a trip are two entirely different things
a week and a half is not enough time to prepare for 4 months away, even when you are not working
I really do need 8 pairs of shoes
The result of this newly gained knowledge was a one day delay in our departure but no worries, we are wandering!
The trickiest part of our packing experience was that our trailer was physically in Florida and we were not.
Everything we wanted inside the camper and all the toys to play with along the way (golf clubs, skis, hiking gear, and fly rods) needed to fit in the back of our truck.
Oh, and I have failed to mention my husband bought a dirt bike that also needed to go in the bed of the truck - just to make things a bit more complicated!
Eric did a fantastic job finding a place for all our things and securing it all for the long first leg of our trip. The key was a cargo net over a tarp with straps over it all.
We felt a bit like the Clampetts on The Beverly Hillbillies as we took off but the load has stayed tight and compared to the other loaded trucks we've seen, it really is a
beautiful packing job!
Being over halfway to our trailer, excitement is building in both of us. Our dog, Nellie, is still unsure of the future but happy to be with us.

At our first rest stop, she actually tried to get under the steering wheel instead of the back seat. Not sure if that was to be closer to us or confusion in the new truck.
I'm sure as our wander continues, she will become more at ease with this lifestyle change.
Our goal is to reach Florida today but it will be too dark to get the trailer. We'll pick that up early tomorrow morning and then the real adventure will begin!!
